I had read all about this mountain and was extremely keen to climb it. Probably just 3 minutes in, I was already completely drenched in sweat, mostly due to the start being extremely humid and somewhat like a rainforest. The rest of the hike was mostly scrambling over slippery, mossy rocks. So I didn’t really think it was the mostly relaxing hike.
Climbing up to the halfway point had a good view and I was keen to get to the top to see the gold.
I finally reached the top 1h40m later and was extremely disappointed. Bloody clouds.
This is where I had hyped up my expectations so much that if it wasn’t anything but perfect it would be bad. And this was terrible. Not a single bit of blue sky, drenched head to toe in sweat and to top it off, it started raining at the top…

I stayed up there for roughly 40mins waiting for a break in the clouds but it wasn’t coming… I went back down. Needless to say, I didn’t take any more photos at the top. To top it all off, right near the bottom I managed to kick a little stub of a tree that was semi obstructing the path.
Even better was my tent was soaked. Oh well, you can’t win them all and at least the campsite was good and free.
